Privacy Policy

The Growth Syndicate B.V. (“TGS”, “we”, “us” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to handling Personal Data responsibly and transparently. This Privacy Policy explains how we process Personal Data when you visit our website, contact us, interact with us in a professional capacity, participate in our events or community, receive communications from us, apply to work with us, or otherwise engage directly with TGS.
1. Who we are
The controller responsible for the processing described in this Privacy Policy is:
The Growth Syndicate B.V.
KVK: 93406959
Jozef Israëlskade 46-1
1072 SB Amsterdam
The Netherlands
Privacy enquiries and requests: legal@thegrowthsyndicate.com
2. When this Privacy Policy applies
This Privacy Policy applies where TGS determines why and how Personal Data is processed and therefore acts as a data controller.
We also process Personal Data on behalf of our clients when providing marketing, growth, RevOps, analytics, advertising, content, design, web development and related services. In those situations, the relevant client generally acts as the controller and TGS acts as its processor. The client’s privacy notice governs that processing, and requests relating to that data should normally be directed to the relevant client.
3. Personal Data we may collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may process:
- identity and contact information, such as your name, business email address and telephone number;
- professional information, such as your employer, role, job title and professional profile;
- communications and correspondence with TGS;
- information about enquiries, meetings, proposals and our business relationship with you;
- marketing preferences and engagement with our communications;
- event or community registration and participation information;
- website and technical information, including IP address, browser/device information, cookie identifiers, pages visited and interactions with our website;
- recruitment information if you apply to work with us; and
- information necessary for contracts, invoicing, administration, legal compliance or dispute management.
We do not intentionally seek to collect special-category Personal Data unless it is genuinely necessary for a specific purpose.
4. Where we obtain Personal Data
We obtain Personal Data directly from you when, for example, you contact us, schedule a meeting, enter into a business relationship with us, register for an event or communicate with our team.
For B2B business development, we may also obtain professional contact information from sources such as publicly available professional profiles, company websites, professional networks, referrals, event information and reputable business-data or sales-enablement providers.
Where Personal Data has not been obtained directly from you, we use it only where we have an appropriate legal basis and provide transparency as required by applicable data-protection law.
5. Why we process Personal Data
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we consider whether those interests are proportionate and whether your interests or fundamental rights override them. You may object at any time to processing of your Personal Data for direct marketing.
6. How we share Personal Data
We may provide Personal Data to authorised TGS personnel and contractors where they need it for their role.
We may also use third-party service providers supporting areas such as website hosting, cloud storage, CRM, communications and collaboration, analytics, advertising, sales enablement, event management, accounting, security and other business operations.
Where appropriate, we may use approved AI and automation tools to assist our work. When Personal Data is involved, we apply data-minimisation, access and security controls and take account of contractual and client-specific restrictions.
We may also disclose Personal Data to professional advisers, regulators, courts, law-enforcement bodies or other authorities where legally required, or in connection with a corporate transaction such as a merger, acquisition or restructuring.
We do not sell Personal Data.
7. International transfers
TGS works internationally and some authorised personnel or service providers may process Personal Data from countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA).
Where GDPR requires safeguards for such transfers, we use an appropriate transfer mechanism, such as:
- an adequacy decision adopted by the European Commission;
- the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses; and
- where appropriate, supplementary contractual, technical and organisational safeguards.
TGS maintains internal controls and assessments for relevant international transfers.
You can contact legal@thegrowthsyndicate.com if you would like further information about safeguards applicable to a particular transfer.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies for purposes including essential website functionality, analytics, personalisation and marketing.
Where consent is legally required, non-essential tracking technologies are used only after you have made a choice through our cookie preference system.
You can reject non-essential cookies, change your preferences or withdraw your consent through the Privacy Preference Center available on our website.
Further details about individual cookies and tracking technologies are provided through that preference centre.
9. How long we keep Personal Data
We retain Personal Data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, taking account of the nature of the information, our relationship with you and applicable legal obligations.
- Business and client records: may be retained for the duration of the relationship and afterwards where necessary for legal, accounting or tax purposes.
- Marketing information: is retained while our relationship or legitimate business interest remains relevant, or until you unsubscribe or object. We may retain limited suppression information so that we can respect your opt-out.
- Enquiry and prospect information: is periodically reviewed and removed or anonymised when there is no longer a reasonable business need to retain it.
- Website and security information: is retained only for the period reasonably necessary for analytics, operation, security or investigation purposes.
Certain financial and administrative records are retained for longer where required by applicable law.
10. Your rights
Subject to the conditions of applicable law, you may have the right to:
- access your Personal Data;
- correct inaccurate information;
- request deletion or restriction of processing;
- receive certain Personal Data in a portable format;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests;
- object at any time to direct marketing; and
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
To exercise your rights, contact legal@thegrowthsyndicate.com.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, the Dutch data-protection supervisory authority, or another competent EU/EEA supervisory authority.
11. Automated decision-making
TGS does not currently use solely automated decision-making that produces legal effects concerning individuals or similarly significantly affects them within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR.
12. Security
We maintain appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect Personal Data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure.
These include measures relating to access control, authentication, device security, encryption, credential management, confidentiality, personnel access, data handling and incident response.
We deliberately do not publish detailed internal security configurations.
13. Children
Our website and services are intended for professional and business audiences and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from children through our website for marketing or business-development purposes.
If you believe a child has provided Personal Data to us inappropriately, please contact us so that we can investigate and take appropriate action.
14. External websites
Our website may contain links to third-party websites and services. Their processing of Personal Data is governed by their own privacy notices and is outside TGS’s control.
15. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our processing activities, services or legal obligations change. The date at the top of this page indicates the latest revision.
